I really enjoy this air rifle! I have not owned an air rifle for years, and more or less considered them toy guns. I have to tell you I was wrong! I also bought a Leaper 4×32 mil scale and after installing it I can not believe how tight groups is that this rifle will produce a distance. I have tried various pills with this rifle and I have great success with Crosman Destroyers. I am a very very happy buyer of this fine air rifle. BTW the construction quality of this rifle appears to be top notch, nothing cheap or flimsy about it. I have read reports of people killing wolves with this gun, all I can say is I think that after seeing how hard this gun can hit at 1000 fps.

This pellet rifle is great for shooting small game and wild rodents. Very powerful, but it is pretty high when you take a shot. I understand that it would put down after about 500 skud.

I bought one of these just over a week ago and I have been more than impressed. The quality you have come to expect from Crosman products come through in this piece. Artisanal quality, rugged construction, locating accuaracy. How Phantom ramps up bar standard: in power. No more enless pump your old classic 650 bb gun for a measley 600 ft / sec. A cock break barrel and you will impressed by sending a series of 0.177 pellets down range at 1000 ft / sec and up to 1200 ft / sec with the matching PBD ammunition. I was able to kill a Groundhog away with a head shot from about 30 meters, with a hollow point pellet (not included). ONE resign, as you will see in other reviews, a pretty dispointing rear vision. Small red True Glow threads dont give much light, and windage adjustment is pretty clumsy and not up to the quality of the rest of the gun. The front sight is much much better. Also, this unit sells with a midpoint 4X32 option, usually for about $ 30 more. Buy it not scoped entity and spend the extra $ 30 to buy a better quality scope. Regardless rid of the rear sight. Over all a 5 star purchase, I’m one of the best done in a while.

“These comments are in regards to the Crosman Phantom 1200 break barrel pellet rifle and were wrote on 12/05/2010” This pellet gun is probably the “best” break barrel rifle on the market for the cost. After reading several (something like 25) reviews and trying the runner up, the Remington Vantage 1200 (couldn’t find the Phantom at the time of purchase) and then returning it because you couldn’t site it in with the cheap scope that it came with. I knew the gun for me was the Phantom. I want everyone to know that if you are going to purchase a break barrel pellet gun and you want to pay less than $150, the phantom is your gun! Accuracy like you won’t believe, with or without a scope. Power; it will blow right through 5/8” plywood at 25 yards, Speed; 1200 fps using PBA’s, 1000 fps with Lead. What kind of gun will you be acquiring when purchasing the Phantom 1200. Power; a shot of 100 yards and it will imbed the lead pellet a ¼” into pine. When purchasing the gun, I also purchased a Tasco 3-9x40mm scope, mounted it to the Phantom 1200 rifle and achieved a ½” spread at 100 feet using lead pellets. How much did it all cost? Crosman Phantom 1200 break barrel pellet gun – $80, Tasco Scope – $32, Weaver scope mounts – $11, Crosman tin (250 ea.) of .177 cal. 4.5mm lead pellets – $2, all purchased at a Wal-Mart Supercenter for a total of $125 plus sales tax. You will need to order on line from a Dealer/Crosman.com; the Crosman Silicone Chamber Oil (.25 oz. tube), the only oil for use with Crosman spring- break barrel-pellet guns (won’t harm the seals). You can try looking for it at Wal-Mart, Kmart or Bass Pro, but don’t get your hopes up.
